Our Mission Philosophy

Sunrise Hospice Care provides physical, emotional, social, and spiritual support to terminally ill patients, as well as their families and loved ones, while assisting patients and families to live with dignity and comfort as they cope with end-of-life issues.

Our Mission is to provide holistic care, comfort, quality of life and dignity to our patients through their end-of-life journey. We will achieve this by concentrating on patient and family centered goals with a focus not only on the medical needs but also by providing care for the mental and spiritual needs of our patients and families during their journey.

We believe:

  • Hospice affirms life.
  • Hospice recognizes dying as a process and so our care provides comfort rather than cure.
  • Hospice neither hastens nor postpones death.
  • Hospice provides physical, emotional, and spiritual care to terminally ill persons and their families.

Hospice helps the terminally ill person maintain quality of life and helps family members through extremely stressful time in their lives. Hospice is primarily a home care program, but services may be provided in a hospital or nursing home. A hospice team helps the patient and family make informed decisions and caregiving, providing necessary skills for "hands-on" care and helps with the approach managing death. Hospice also offers help through the bereavement period.

Sunrise Hospice Care is privately owned agency and is accredited by ACHC / Medicare and licensed in the State of California. We are committed to ensuring your rights and privileges as a hospice patient. We have written this booklet to help you better understand hospice care.
